Jaime Pomerantz
Jaime was born in Mexico City on November 14th, 1959.
Since he was a young boy, he developed his great passion for art, mostly in paintings. When he was 14, he started studying at different academies. Thanks to that academic experience, he developed his unique personal style.
Jaime decided to pursue a degree in Garphic Comunication Design at the University of Autonoma Metropolitana and after that, a Master's Degree in Photography and Cinematographic Scenography at the University of Nacional Autónoma de Mexico. He was also a professor of Communication Design for six years at the University Anahuac.
As a professional painter, Jaime has shown his artwork at several individual and group exhibits starting even when he was very young in Israel. Jaime received recognitions at various exhibits such as Kibutz MAGGAL, Pedro Gerson's Gallery, Art Garden at the CDI, the UAM in Xochimilco, the Culture House in La Paz Baja California and the 50 th Anniversary of the Bnel Brith.
In most recent public exhibit, Jaime mainly presented figurative paintings in various themes, where he applied pure bright colors, full of contrasts that transmit optimism and love for freedom, spirituality and life. For Jaime, painting is a vital as air and it gives him peace with himself, God and other people. Painting has let him transmit his emotions, feelings and even his state of mind at the moment he creates his paintings.
Jaime is an admirer of Impressionism, Expressionism, Surrealism and Mexican Murals.
Nowadays, Jaime experiments with new techniques, such as textile embroidery. Although it is difficult to develop and execute, this has given him much satisfaction on a personal level and lets him innovate and offer something to Mexican art. He has now a permanent exhibit at his own gallery in downtown area at Mexico City. There, you will find new paintings as well as his previous work that have been transformed into embroideries. It is a very vibrant, colorful and exciting exhibit. |
